The reason Flashcards & Stationery exists is that we use a lot of flashcards ourselves. That’s why we know what does and doesn’t work. And especially what we wanted differently from self-made flashcards or ones ordered elsewhere.

We get a lot of questions why we offer flashcards, while you can also make them yourself. Therefore, below you can read a summary of the things we have encountered, what we have learned and why this website exists.

Thick paper makes all the difference

Studying with flashcards for real means writing them yourself and using them a lot. This is why we have chosen paper as thick as possible. 300 grams paper in terminology. For comparison: regular notebook paper is 80 grams. So why did we choose such thick paper? Two reasons: writing on them goes a lot smoother and the paper doesn’t crease. Regular paper does, which makes it unpleasant to use. You use the flashcards intensively so they have to last for quite some time.

Writing versus typing & printing

In the past we have made flashcards on our computer, printed and cut them. This just doesn’t work as efficiently as writing them yourself. We even devoted an entire page to this. You memorize the matter better and faster by writing. Initially it takes a bit more time to make the flashcards but in the end it will definitely pay off in study time. Also, thick 300 grams paper really doesn’t fit in your own printer (nope, really).

Cutting 50 or 1500 flashcards

When you occasionally use some flashcards, it’s logical that you’d make them yourself. But making 1500 flashcards takes about a day. This time could be used as efficient study time, which is one of the reasons why we offer flashcards in large amounts.

Make it fun!

If you have to study, you might as well make it more fun. That’s why we have all the designs and colours. First of all, this is mostly useful: you can easily distinguish the flashcards. Each subject or topic has its own colour or theme. We think this makes studying with flashcards a lot more fun to do.

Order your flashcards as you like

When we started this website we wanted one thing: for you to always pay the same price per amount of flashcards. No matter how you shop, whatever you do. That’s why you’re always free to create your own package of flashcards. You can do this by adding your packs to the basket separately, create a bundle or buy a colour pack. Or all of the above. The total amount of flashcards is always added together which determines the price per pack of 50. The more you order, the cheaper they are.
